FA Vase result: Prestwich Heys 4 - 1 Beverley Town

Another big step forward for the club, our first ever appearance in the FA Vase. It wasn't the result we wanted against a strong Prestwich Heys side, but great experience for the lads.

Town got off to a flyer, taking the lead after just 5 minutes. Josh Batty played the ball through to Olly Baldwin who placed his shot past the goalkeeper's right.

We held onto the lead for 20 minutes before the Prestwich forward managed to get a touch onto a cross to make it 1 - 1 after 24 minutes.

Unfortunately 2 more goals came for Prestwich before half time. On 33 minutes the Prestwich midfielder was given too much space and shot past Town goalkeeper Tom Nicholson. And right on half time, Prestwich slotted in a 3rd to make it 3-1 at the break.

It was always going to be challenging for Town to come back in the 2nd half, and Prestwich added a 4th after 67 minutes, to put the game out of reach.

It was great for the club to experience its first taste of FA Vase action, something we can really build on in the coming seasons.
